Supportive Classroom

It is very important to me that any comment provided by me or my students is of a positive and supportive nature. My example will set the flow for the room; so all suggestions and reinforcement must be positive to the students so that their comments will be of a compassionate and helpful tone as well. I have a zero tolerance for any words, comments, jokes, or drawings that are offensive to anyone. This includes: sexual orientation, racial terms, ethnic, cognitive, inappropriate terms, and swearing. In order for all students to feel comfortable in their learning environment, hateful words will not be tolerated in any situation. All conversations should be that of a supportive manner to peers and adults. Here are some of the terms that would be heard when listening in my classroom.
