Professionalism in Teaching

  • There are certain qualities that distinguish professionals in teaching. The characteristics mentioned below are all traits that can be found within me. I am proud to say that I possess the necessary qualities that identify teaching professionals.


Responsibility
  • Always accountable for one's own decisions and actions.
  • Responsibility to students, co-workers, community, and myself to provide the best education as possible.
  • Maintain a classroom management plan to keep the students safe.

Respect
  • Always be respectful to others and their feelings.
  • Respect my classroom, my school, and do the best I can to continually improve it.
  • Demonstrate honesty, accountability, and trustworthiness—all qualities of a respectable person.
  • Professionals in teaching have a responsibility to have relational trust and respect with staff members and administration.

Initiative
  • Volunteer for events and organizations to better myself.
  • Take initiative to model the behavior I expect from my students.
  • Generate creative ways to enhance student learning.
  • Always set goals for the class and myself and then strive to reach them.

Efficiency
  • Organization and punctuality makes everything run smoothly.
  • Effectiveness in lesson plans and prep time.
  • Participation in all professional development meetings and opportunities to always better my craft.
  • Always remain knowledgeable of new teaching styles, methods, standards, and content.
